The Yakima Heart Center Lipid Clinic was started in 1985 when elevated cholesterol levels were first associated with coronary artery disease. Our Lipid Clinic team consists of a supervising cardiologist, two physician assistants, and a registered nurse.
Our goal is to help patients reach and maintain healthy lipid levels through specialized testing, education, and ongoing monitoring by the Heart Center and the primary care physician.
During their first visit to the Yakima Heart Center Lipid Clinic, patients will be asked to provide information regarding their medical and lipid history, previous and current treatments, and family medical history. Previous test results are also helpful and are typically provided by the referring provider.
The patient will be seen by our staff, consisting of cardiologists and physician assistants, on their initial visit to establish an individualized treatment and follow-up plan. A cardiac examination, focused on physical manifestations of lipid abnormalities, will be performed.
A Lipid Clinic appointment takes approximately 30-60 minutes.
